Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how audiotomidi.org collects, uses, and stores information when you use the service.

AudioToMidi.org offers two processing paths:

  • Basic mode runs in the browser for local processing.
  • Studio mode uploads audio temporarily for cloud processing.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  1. Account and support information

    • If you contact us or create an account in the future, we may collect your email address and the information you provide in your message or account profile.
  2. Uploaded files and generated results

    • In Basic mode, source audio is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to our servers as part of that mode.
    • In Studio mode, source audio and generated results may be processed and stored temporarily so the conversion can complete and the result can be delivered.
  3. Usage and device information

    • We may collect limited usage, browser, device, and error information to operate the service, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
  4. Cookies and similar technologies

    • We may use cookies or similar technologies for essential site functionality, language preference, analytics, and fraud prevention.

How We Use Information

We may use collected information to:

  • provide and operate the service;
  • process conversions and deliver MIDI files;
  • respond to support requests;
  • monitor performance, reliability, and abuse;
  • improve the service and user experience;
  • comply with legal obligations.

Basic Mode and Studio Mode

Basic mode

  • Source audio stays in the browser for local processing.
  • We do not upload that source audio to our servers as part of the Basic workflow.

Studio mode

  • Source audio is uploaded for cloud processing.
  • Uploaded files may be processed by third-party infrastructure that helps us run the service.
  • Uploaded files are not used to train models.

Storage and Retention

Where cloud storage or temporary processing storage is used, we aim to delete uploaded source files and generated results after processing or within 24 hours.

Retention periods may be shorter when technically possible. We may keep limited logs, billing records, fraud-prevention records, or support records for longer when reasonably necessary.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information only when necessary with:

  • cloud or infrastructure providers that help us operate the service;
  • analytics, logging, or security providers;
  • payment providers, if paid Studio credits are enabled later;
  • legal authorities when required by law.

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights or permission to upload and convert the audio you submit to the service.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
